Meta/Morph

In collaboration with multi-media artist John McGeoch and science technician Geoff Robbins, Julia was awarded a remote residency by the Centre for Design Informatics at Edinburgh University in April 2020. Working from their homes in Highland over two months during lockdown, they investigated sets of satellite data that show environmental change in the North of Scotland between 2015 and 2020. Their investigations led to creative interpretations of the data through movement, digital animation and sound.

You can read all about their Space and Satellite Data Residency and see their final work, Meta/Morph, on the Inspace website

The work was exhibited at the Edinburgh Science Festival at Inspace City Screen from 26 June – 11 July 2021.
